Today has been just that. Straight up LAZY…
Woke up this morning and I wasn’t feeling too good. Skipped soccer practice (that’s how bad I was feeling). I thought about working on the yard a little bit, but since the temp was going to be too hot today the fertilizer will just have to wait. Then I started working on the house. (Glad we have the house with all the housing problems these days and glad we don’t have to look for foreclosure help) Then I stated to feel worse and the energy was draining (rather quickly). So for the rest of the day I lounged around and did pretty much nothing. I have tried to do as many entrecard drops as I could before my 1.5 hour nap around 530ish. Yep that felt pretty good. So now just watching “The Rookie” on TV and writing this post.
Hopefully tomorrow I will start to feel better.
We all have a preferred method of how we get around these days. Bike, Car, Truck, Boat, Bus, Plane, you name it. But what do most do when you get closer to retirement age?
Well a lot of people usually opt in to get a RV to cruise around the country. That would be fun wouldn’t it? Maybe you could check to see if there is a bus for sale and cruise around in a bus. Or just by car and make some mini trips.
Some may just spend their savings on some beach front property and just get a bike or motorcycle. Well I have a bunch of time before I reach these decisions, so for now I will continue to drive my SUV..
Some days around here I have to wonder how people got their drivers license. People tend to float, speed, drive erratic, etc. It’s pretty crazy. Now, some days traffic is nice and just flows along without any issues. Now Fridays are something else all together. Fridays can either be mellow or look like something was just unleashed from hell or somewhere in between.
In fact just the other day on the morning commute some guy just about side swiped me without even looking. Maybe with all the craziness I should look into some cheap life insurance so my family is protected in case one day someone takes me out. lol
A good point to bring up is the Fort Worth Police chase last night that nbc5 happen to cover watching this guy rip up and down residential neighborhoods at least at 60 mph. Thank goodness no one got hurt on that chase.
Now I’m sure this could differ from city to city, but in all seriousness there are times I wonder why everyone is in such a hurry that they have to do 75+ and weave in and out of everyone.
I was thinking what I could do for my dad from Christmas this year. Yes I know it’s only May, OK almost June but you can never start too early right? I was playing around with some ideas that I had of things he would like around his house. First I thought of some cool parts and accessories for his ‘34 Ford Truck. Then I realized that he will have it ready to go and be all painted by the end of summer, so that kind of present wouldn’t really work out for Christmas.
Then I thought about some items for his garage, although he already has a ton of things in there, but he likes to do wood working and building items, somewhat like a hobby. I really think he should make some things and sell them.
But then I thought of something he would probably use all the time, a wine rack. Oh yeah, he would like that. Now I’m not saying or calling him an alcoholic, but he likes to have wine occasionally, and this way he could keep it all nice, neat, organized and ready to go. Yep I think he will like that. Now I just need to remember this great idea later on in the year.
And yes I know fathers day is just around the corner, but I have already taken care of that!
So today I have been thinking back to the childhood. Trying to remember all the different toys I would play with. After I got a list all nailed down, I think my favorite was… well I can’t say I just had one favorite. I had a few that I loved to play with. Primarily Lego’s was the big thing for me back then. Mom and Dad would but me Lego’s at any chance they would get and I could sit and create things for hours. Of course all the cool one’s come out after I’m too old to be playing with them. If fact somewhere, either at our house or my parents, I still have 90% of my Lego’s.
The other fun thing was cars. I used to make race tracks and just pretend away with garages, fixing them, etc. Oh the hours of fun that was had. Of course as I grew up things changed and what I played with also changed, but I don’t ever think I lost the love for Lego’s. I still catch myself looking at the next greatest thing they come out with and it takes me right back to being a child.
What kind of toys did you grow up loving or playing with that you would consider being your number 1 or number 2?
So Monday I took my little brother (Big Brothers, Big Sisters) to the Zoo. I haven’t been in a couple of years and they have been advertising that they now had penguins again and this new exhibit for them. Lets just say that I wasn’t really impressed. It was cool to see the penguins but it is really nothing like the penguins exhibit at the Dallas World Aquarium.
Ok so we got to see some really cool animals. That’s one reason I like to go to the zoo. Of course some of the animals just like to sit or sleep. Then again it was close to 93 out. The coyotes and the mountain lions were all taking morning naps. The Elephants were pretty active. The Hippos barely came out of the water. (I wonder how long they can hold there breath) The Apes and Monkeys are always fun to watch.
Overall it was hot and humid but a fun day none the less..
