Back at the Zoo
So Monday I took my little brother (Big Brothers, Big Sisters) to the Zoo. I haven’t been in a couple of years and they have been advertising that they now had penguins again and this new exhibit for them. Lets just say that I wasn’t really impressed. It was cool to see the penguins but it is really nothing like the penguins exhibit at the Dallas World Aquarium.
Ok so we got to see some really cool animals. That’s one reason I like to go to the zoo. Of course some of the animals just like to sit or sleep. Then again it was close to 93 out. The coyotes and the mountain lions were all taking morning naps. The Elephants were pretty active. The Hippos barely came out of the water. (I wonder how long they can hold there breath) The Apes and Monkeys are always fun to watch.
Overall it was hot and humid but a fun day none the less..

Hi there,
I am originally from Dallas. Now we live in Oklahoma at Lake Texhoma.
We all went to the Ft. Worth zoo a few years ago while they were still in the middle of their make over. We were there during the spring so it was not so hot. We had a blast. I love their new natural feel.
I heard at that time that Dallas was also going to redo their zoo. Has that been done yet?
And yes I do agree the Aquarium at Fair Park is truly nice as is the gardens.:-)

I know they had to re-do the gorilla area since one escaped. I’m sure you heard about that one. I haven’t been to Dallas Zoo in at least 5 years. It’s fun to see animals you haven’t seen in a long time or get to see on a regular basis. Fort Worth Zoo is building this massive structure, (well maybe not so massive) but it will replace the crocs and snakes, etc into one new location. Looks interesting.
