Hosting Companies

Right now I’m using a friends shared account to host this blog, and I feel the need to move it. I actually like where this site is being hosted now, but was just wondering what others use that have their own domain names for their hosting needs..

Would anyone care to leave a comment and let me know who you use and if you have had any problems?

I have one blog hosted at Holdfire.net and other than a short (like 5 minutes), have been up since March of this year continuously. They respond well to support tickets and are in general pretty helpful. They have some really inexpensive packages that give bloggers plenty of bandwidth and space for a very reasonable price.

My other blog is at WebHSP.com and that’s where my website is also hosted. I’ve been with them since the early 90’s and have had 99% uptime in all these years. A tad more expensive than Holdfire, but equally as good to work with. The main difference is that you can have more sub domains and parked domains than Holdfire offers with their cheapest package — they have one that’s about the same price as WebHSP with comparable features.

I’ve heard good things about Host Gator and used Bluehost for awhile and they were good.

Hope this helps you find a good host!

Well, Recently I’ve moved everything to a hosting company in The Netherlands called “Antagonist”. They give me 30 GB space and 60 GB traffic. That’s enough for me now.
I don’t know if you use that too, but perhaps One.com?

Webhosting uptime is very important for me. So if you have to get a good hosting, get the best uptime server, I think dreamhost can provide maximum uptime, 99.99%. But of course you have to pay more. :P
