Soccer in my blood? Maybe mini soccer balls?
While I don’t watch every match every weekend, or go see the local professional team every game, that doesn’t mean I love soccer. I grew up playing soccer with my dad coaching me almost my entire youth soccer career (I think 1 year I played on another team) and I have also accumulated about 15 years of coaching experience at all youth levels.
Now that I’m coaching once again after a year or two off, I have jumped back into or onto a competitive soccer team. Yep I have probably written something about them before but we are a new team that has been training for almost the last year in preparation to move into the competitive leagues. So naturally I’m now interested in following all of the competitive clubs in the area. Now we are not a Lake Highlands team (Lake highlands is the premier competitive league in North Texas) so I don’t mind checking out how other teams do especially since they represent North Texas Youth Soccer.
So this week (started last night) is the Youth National Championships. There are quite a few North Texas teams that have made it and are playing for the National Title in there age division. So here are the current results up to this time. Most of these teams have played 2 games already in there bracket:
U18:
Sting Dallas 90 - 2-0-0 (1st Place)
U17:
Dallas Texans 91 Red - 1-0-0 (1st Place)
** Play 2nd game tonight at 7pm**
U16:
Dallas Texans 92 Red - 1-0-1 (1st Place)
Sting Dallas Royal 92 - 0-1-1 (3rd Place)
U15:
Dallas Texans 93 Red - 0-0-2 (2nd Place)
U14:
D’Feeters 94 - 0-1-1 (3rd Place)
Good luck to the North Texas Teams..
I will update and post new scores when they come available.

That’s great that you are a coach! It must be interesting to be on the other side. My son loves the sport.

You say Lake Highlands is the premier league? What about the Classic League in Dallas (aka Chambers)?

Lake Highlands Classic League is the girls/womens where I do believe Classic League is the boys/mens league… Up to U19 or course..!!
Unless I’m wrong.. (which can happen)

It has been awhile since I have been involved in North Texas soccer so you are probably right. I was not aware that there was a girls Classic league. I don’t recall there being any girls teams when I played in the league back in the 80’s.
