My Soccer Team’s Raffle

Yes I’m soliciting my daily, frequent and not so frequent readers of my site and ask them if they would like to purchase a raffle ticket.

Let me explain this.  This raffle is for our soccer club (Polaris Soccer Club – North Texas) and being a coach this raffle tremendously helps out with our team fees and our budget.  So for $5 per raffle ticket, you are helping out my team (that I coach)

Now I have to say that this is really for US readers only, as some of the items might not work in other parts of the world.

Prize List:
2 – $1000 Gift Cards to Circuit City
2 – $500 Gift Cards to Circuit City
4 – $500 Gift Cards to Shell Gas
3 – $100 Gift Cards for Albertson’s
4 – $100 Gift Cards for Outback Steak House

Drawing is September 1st at 6:00pm
Again you do NOT need to be present to win

Plus with the purchase of the raffle ticket you are helping out our team.  So what are you waiting for, order some up :)

Please me a comment and I will email you back with instructions on how to participate.

Thanks

Losing Weight – With Help

I have talked about this subject a few times on my blog here about working out and losing weight, so today I thought I would chat a little about weight loss pills.

Truthfully I plan on not trying to go down the path of taking diet pills, but a lot of people do and they rave about them.  Some have there favorites and some have ones they don’t work or they didn’t like.  So I thought I would just look up a few of them and list them here and get some peoples opinions.

This one website I found listed these:  Thermolean, Venom Diet Pills, 7-keto DHEA, EphBurn 25 and Hoodia Pure.  Now this website ranked Thermolean as #1 for fat loss and energy.  #2 showed up as Venom Diet Pills (weird name?  snake venom?).  They say it’s an effective fat burner. The 7-Keto…  Well they actually state that if your over 30 consider this one carefully.  Wow..!!!

I’m sure there are tons and tons of pills out on the market and I really dont have time to list them all or talk about them, but I would like or should I say ask, that if you actually use diet pills, to please comment.  I would like to know if they actually worked or not, success or failure.

For now I’m going to start a 2 a week training schedule (that’s all the time I have right now) until my local 24 hour fitness opens up by work, then I plan on going at least 3 times per week on my lunch hour and keep my other 2 days….

There are times when I love going grocery shopping and then there are times it’s not really fun!  I probably should classify that as a drag, boring or potential time waster. But it’s a necessary thing to do.  We all need groceries, toiletries, food, etc. unless you are extremely wealthy and can afford someone to do the shopping for you.  I for one am not that wealthy.  What I’m trying to say is that at times I love to shop.

Part of the reason I like to shop is that most grocery stores keep the same general layout.  Some change little things but for the most part they stay the same, which makes it easier to memorize where everything is.  Our grocery store is this way.  The only thing that has changed in the last 2 years is that they removed the photo area.  (Guess it wasn’t making money)  For instance our grocery store.  You walk in the right side (the best side) and you have Soaps and makeup, medicines, acne creams, vitamins, toilet paper, tooth brushes, then along the back and far side you have milk, eggs, meats and cheeses then you get to the veggies.  Then all of the other boxed goods are all on the inside aisles.  (I’m sure you can figure out whats left with me itemizing it :)   )  This makes it fun as I know where almost “everything” is.

Do you like to go grocery shopping?

Mission Trip back home

My wife and the entire group got back into town last Friday (couple days ago) after being in Xalapa, Mexico for 1 week.  There are plenty of stories I have heard about how wonderful this trip was and hopefully made an impact for the church they went down to help.  The group (about 40 including Next, and 2 other churches) talked with roughly 250 people in Xalapa and Coatepec, with 188 of those accepting Christ into their lives.  That is just Awesome!!!

I wanted to share a few pictures that my wife took of the area last week:

Soccer Team Moving Forward

Our soccer team is moving forward after a long training streak.  This week we have finally got our team registered and then today we have applied and registered for our first two tournaments.

Basically we have until August 15th to get this team of 13 ready (maybe 14) for there first shot at competitive soccer.  We are participating in a tournament in Fort Worth that weekend, and they will probably get 3 games on Saturday alone.  I guess it just depends on the number of teams.  Then labor day weekend the team is going to head south a few hours down to Austin, TX.  This should be a fun tournament as this will be right before league play starts and we are not playing at home!  lol   It should be a lot of fun..

League play starts 1 or 2 weeks after that till early December.  So the season is starting after 9 months of hard training.

Baby Time

A few women around work are getting ready to have babies.  In fact one was born about 2 weeks ago, and I think 2 more are on the way.  I was thinking about  various things you could get someone who is having a baby.  Now of course I really only have ideas, as I myself have not had a child but I can assume some of the basic things you will need (especially for a first time parent).

Among all the diapers, lotions, wipes, etc.  I think one would need some big things.  A Maclaren stroller, crib, high chair, furniture for the bedroom, etc.

Of course one good way to get this stuff is to hold a couple of baby showers or register with a baby store.

Maybe one of these days my wife and I might have a baby, or yet adopt..!!!

Possible Gang Ties

Checking in to see if there was any new info about the shooting up in Kent, Washington that was by the Kent Cornucopia Days Festival.

Now the Kent Police are looking into possible gang ties for the shooting.  They had another incident where they found another young man shot in the neck in Renton which they think he was shot while trying to retaliate for the earlier shooting..  Just crazy..  Renton is my old home town..!!!

Here is part of the article:

“There were about 20 people, plus 10 to 15 customers in there when the shooting happened, so it was a pretty busy place at that moment,” Kent police spokesman Paul Peterson said.

About two hours later, at 9:40 p.m., an 18-year-old man stumbled into a convenience store parking lot near the Renton Transit Center and collapsed from a gunshot wound to the neck, Renton police said.
