Out of Town Workouts

Do you ever go to the gym or fitness club when you are on vacation or away for a long weekend?

I’m just curious on what people do.  People of all fitness levels usually work out on some type of routine when they are close to home.  From the casual workouts types all the way up to the bodybuilding supplements types.  Next to my hotel this weekend was a 24hr fitness.  So of course I thought about working out, but just shrugged it off and laughed.  Probably cause I knew I was really busy with my soccer team and being on the go with 3 games and 18 miles that separated the fields and the hotel.  So needless to say I didn’t get to participate in any fitness this weekend.

Last spring I went to Seattle to visit my parents and to be there for my mom’s surgery and they had a 24 hour fitness right down the street and I still didn’t go.  So …  Do you or would you really workout if you are on vacation or out of town?

Tough Times Today

We had 2 of our 3 tournament soccer games today.  ** Disclaimer for new or first time readers - This is our first year playing competitive soccer **

We started this mornings game off really bad and I won’t get into specifics here but it was bad.  They acted like they were still sleeping, it was unreal.  No communication No nothing.  We lost that game 0-7 to Challenge 95 Dynamite.  The Challenge team played really well.

Our second game we played like a competitive soccer team.  We actually scored first on a direct penalty kick about 20 yards out and Mikayla nailed it home.  It was a nice shot.  We held them to 1-0 at half time, but you could quickly tell that our stamina was running out quick.  Lonestars 95 Red South scored 2 and then toward the end of the game in desperation, we made an own goal trying to block a shot.  We lost 1-3.  I’m pretty proud of the girls for the hard work in the second game today.  Tomorrow morning at 9am we play our last game against Eclipse 95 Red.

Let’s just get out there and play some good ball.

It must be the Candy

I must be eating more sweets lately.  The acne is really breaking out.  Although for some reason I’m breaking out more on my shoulders than my face, but it’s still annoying.

I’m sure I just need to cut out the sweets but they are pretty darn good, lol.  It’s a tough thing to crack.  In fact I am having some right now sitting in my hotel room at my soccer tournament.  I suppose it will keep me up now to and I will regret it, but oh well it’s almost like dessert.  I guess I better get to looking for something to help me with this before I hit the sack.

I hate them all

Bugs, spiders and insects combined.  lol..!!  I know your thinking what a way to start this post but it’s true.  They crawl in your house and you have to constantly kill them.  When we moved to our new house from our apartment we signed up for pest control so we wouldn’t have any issues but I don’t think it really helps.  I mean it does for awhile but it doesn’t last too long.

Spiders and bugs still get in and you just have to keep killing them.  Maybe I need to try some spider traps as those are the worst creatures ever, he-he.  Especially Black Widows.  In fact about 6 months into the new house I had to kill one in the garage.  Yuk…

I guess we just have to keep fighting the fight!!!

Friday Night Destination

The drive down here today was pretty uneventful and really it was rather boring.  We stopped along the way as the head coach of the team (I was following them) had a niece playing a college soccer game so we watched the 2nd half about 50 miles from Austin. as

We got here around 5:30pm and did some relaxing.  I checked out the TV, then we were off to get the team registered at the host hotel, came back and grabbed 2 more people and we were off to the Outback for some awesome dinner.  ** Service was HORRIBLE **  (Outback, Round Rock - Be careful.. lol)

Came back and more team members were here and a few of us sat around the pool chatting for a bit and now its about time for bed.

Will update tomorrow after our 2 games..!!

Getting ready for a trip

Well tomorrow morning I’m heading down South a few hours to Austin, TX.  Our soccer team is going down there for a soccer tournament this weekend.  The team and coaches are pretty excited about this trip.  I’m sure we wont win the tournament, but as long as the girls have fun and we have a good weekend then that’s what counts.

Not to mention that I have never been to Austin, so it will be cool to see a new place in Texas I haven’t been yet.  One drawback though, the wife started teaching this week and is swamped so she can’t go..  =(  But I understand that the first few weeks and the last few weeks are always the busiest.

I will post some updates from Austin and if I get a chance and some photos from the trip throughout the weekend.

Money, Money, Debt.

While we are making travel plans for the holidays and figuring out our budget and how much it’s going to cost us to travel, I somewhat drifted off to my past financial issues.  It use to be really bad.  I would always pay the bills late and then have the late fees, etc. etc. etc.  I was a mess that’s for sure.  I had debt collection agencies calling all the time and it was a true nightmare.

Once I got married my wife straightened all that out and now it’s in the past, at least I hope.  Getting out of debt is pretty tough these days.

Holidays are coming fast

The holidays seem to be approaching pretty fast these days and it’s time to figure out what to do.  The last two years of holidays, Leslie and I have not been able to make it back to Seattle to spend it with my family.  So as the planning process is taking place, I think this year we are actually going to make it.

I hope we can fly non-stop, even if it costs more.  The non-stop version cuts a few hours of the total travel time.  Not to mention that when we fly back to Texas we lose 2 hours just in the time change alone.

Speaking of trips.  One of these days I would love to go see the East Coast.  Never been.  Maybe check out the Outer Banks close to the ocean and just hang out and relax..  Although the opposite way (west), Hawaii sounds awesome just like our honeymoon..!!!

I know it’s early but any of you out there making holiday travel plans? or just staying around home?

Short and Slow, How was Yours?

Wow it’s Sunday night already.  Another weekend down.  This weekend seemed to move really slow.  Wait..  Maybe that’s cause I didn’t do a thing today but just sit here all day long.

OK, so it started off yesterday with some soccer practice.  That was a fun 2 hours in the sun.  Then I helped my wife get her classroom ready for the kiddo’s that start tomorrow.  I finished up the night watching Street Kings, which I have to say was a really good movie.

This morning I played around with mazzie (our dog) and lounging around really.  I did some work around the house but not much really.  Ended up watching Coyote Ugly.  Not too bad of a movie really.  Then we watched this new DVD I got.  David Crowder Band Remedy DVD + CD..  That was simply awesome.  Finished up the night and currently watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

Now don’t get me wrong I like watching the Olympics but sometimes when they show the same sport over and over again (*cough, cough, swimming, gymnastics, diving, volleyball) it gets old quick.

So did you all have a good weekend?

Wish I had a Corvette

Sometimes I wish I had a Corvette.

The car is simply amazing with tons of horsepower and awesome looks.  I found this site with a huge amount of Corvette accessories. They have pretty much anything you would want to add to your Corvette.  One of the first things I would do is to add these awesome glow gauges.  They look so cool.  Then I would follow it up with some special corvette seat covers and a complete car cover.

They have so many accessories it’s unreal.  Everything from floor mats, front end bra’s to custom head lights or tail lights.  Need better exhaust or some new wheels? Check them out and boost up your Corvette.  Want some flair?  They have some really awesome body kits you can add, or just stylize yourself with some Corvette apparel.

Like I said, if I owned a Corvette this is the site I would frequent and I’m sure they would get all my money to trick out my Corvette.
