People just don’t pay attention

Wednesday I decided to work from home part of the day and spend the other part of the day working on the house.  The house really needed some work done on it.  So after working for about an hour that morning I take a small break to come back and see my remote connection that died.  So I was like “Oh Great”, and I go check out the dsl router and no more green lights and one flashing red one.

I thought it might be a temporary thing so I continue my day working on the house and playing a couple games.  I check back after a couple of hours and still a flashy red light.  So I finally decided to call AT&T and go through there level 1 no help tech support.  Doing all the things I have already done, and have known about for years.  I finally convince her that it wasn’t me or the equipment, but something with the line.  After 45 minutes she finally gets a tech set up for the day and I was gearing up to leave work early again and come home.  15 minutes go by and I decide I better check the phone line.  Yep dead too, so I call back to make sure I get a real tech out here and not just a dsl tech.

Next day [thursday] I leave work early to come home and meet the guy and shows up telling me they are running tests and will get back to me shortly.  8-10 minutes later he rings the door bell again and he proceeds to tell me that our neighbor’s plumber had cut the line and AT&T had recieved about 30 calls after mine.  He advised me it might be the next morning before anything might happen.  So Leslie and leave for a bit and when we get back the neighbor’s yard was all ripped up and the phone and internet was back up.  Yeah!!!

I guess more people need to pay attention when doing their job to minimize other casualties.

Time is Flying, It’s almost Christmas…

I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by.  It seems like yesterday was the spring storm season and now we are about to change our clocks back and get ready for Thanksgiving.  The last two months always seem to just fly by.  Work is usually busy and schedules get filled up pretty quick on the home front.

One thing I really can’t stand however is how early they start the Christmas displays and ad’s.  This year most stores I went into had Christmas decorations up by October 15th.  I’m sorry but I do believe this is way to early.

At least I have seen some of the major gifts being advertised yet, like gaming systems, dollhouses and most major electronics.  I’m sure the ad’s will start appearing soon since Halloween is tomorrow.

Happy Halloween…!!!

Time to Get Busy

I think I better get off my butt and start getting busy, cause the older I get, the harder this will be.  Weight loss and working out is what I’m talking about.  Just the idea sounds nuts and I’m technically already too busy to fit in 1 hour 4-5 times per week to go to the gym.  But on the flip side there is alli, my personal trainer. Hehe, I’m kidding, it’s the weight loss pill. Although I never have tried any, I know a lot do. I still think I’m going to do this the hard old fashion way.. Hard Work and Eating better…

Of course this time of year is difficult with the holidays coming up, but I need to manage my time and get some workouts in.

Texas A&M in Iowa

Saturday was quite the long day.  But if you ask me, I will say it was worth it.

Saturday morning started off by driving over to my friends house as we were going to drive up to the airport together.  We got to Dallas Love Field around 12:15pm as we had to get through security.  Our Charter plane (by Southwest Airlines) took off about 2pm and it was a somewhat short flight and we got there about 3:45pm.

Once we hit the ground there were 3 tour buses ready to pick us up.  Once we all boarded we were off to Iowa State University.  I think we got to the stadium about 5pm (1 hour prior to kickoff) and walked around and took some pictures.  Of course the game started shortly after that and it was a good football game.  Go Aggies!  Texas A&M won 49-35.  After the game we headed back to the buses were we had to wait up to 45 minutes to get everyone back on board to make our way back to the Airport in Des Moines.  Once we arrived at the airport we had to all go through security again (which seemed to take forever) and once we were aboard the Southwest Pilots got us home in quick fashion.  We landed back in Dallas about 1:45am, and we drove back to my friends house, picked up my car and drove home.  I got to bed about 3:15am.

It was a very, very long day, but one I hope to remember forever.

Off to Iowa

Nope no vacation here, but a rather quick trip.  I’m actually flying up there in a few hours and my stay probably wont be more than 6 hours and then flying back home to Texas.  Why you ask?  Well I’m flying up to watch a college football game tonight. lol  My friend won an Auction for Texas A&M (he is alumni) and he won round trip charter plane tickets and game tickets.  So we are off.

I’m pretty sure that we will get back home to Dallas about 2am.  And since I was up around 8am this morning it will make it for a long day.  It should be lots of fun and will have pictures tomorrow to post.

Online Games

There are a couple of pretty cool online games that I partake in and thought I would just talk a little about them.  The first one is called Hattrick.  This is an online mmorpg based on Soccer.  I have done this for close to 1 year now and I have taken my crappy new user team and I have rebuilt the team to go 14-0-0 last season so I could be promoted to the next league up.  I’m now in league V.152 and there is some stiff competition.

I also just joined another one that looks really cool and its called Goal Line Blitz.  It’s an American football mmorpg.  So far since I have just joined, I only have 2 players.  I actually hope to build up enough to have my own team and manage it with other real players.  If you have any interest in this one, click the link above so I can get referral credits to buy my team.

I started a Blog to write down my history and progress of both these games:  fctwisters.wordpress.com

The Local Morning Stop

Most morning I like to stop at this place called QT (Quick Trip) – It’s a gas and food store.  I mainly stop to get my morning Pepsi to kick start my day.  I guess this will go for many places similar to this but most of the time the front is just cluttered with junk for sale, signs that say, MC or Visa accepted here, franchise opportunities or the lost dog/cat sign.  But today it was pretty clean and organized and almost looked out of place.

I wish I could eat some of the food they have out as well, cause the hot dogs always look good and you can always find a morning snack in this place.  And thinking of Pepsi, maybe I should run out and go get one really quick..!!

More Cloud Shots

The last couple of days we have had some great weather for taking some cloud shots.  Now since I usually do not have time to stop and really focus on the shot you are getting drive by’s..  lol  Not to mention I don’t have a very good camera.
