Proud of my Mom

Over the last year, maybe longer my mom has started her own home business.  She has decided to or should I say she did decide to start making earrings and selling them at local bizarres and craft shows.  She has also made cell phone holders and a few necklaces for me.  I would have to say that she is doing pretty good.  The winter time or should I say between Christmas and April are the off months since most craft shows are outside and in the Seattle area this isn’t a good time for outdoor activities.

A guy I know and I are working on a new website for her so she can start selling her goods online.  I hope that will grow her business base and make more money since they are in retirement.  If you have some time check out her website – webersoriginals.com ** Just keep in mind the site is being built at the moment. **

Of course I will blast the news once it’s done.

The Last Day

Yesterday we went to the last day of the Texas State Fair.  It was such a nice day out too.  Upper 70’s maybe 80-81 but it was really nice.  Last year we didn’t go to the fair since I have Celiac disease it make it rather difficult to eat any of the fair foods.  I mean isn’t that the reason you really go to the state fair, to eat and eat fried fatty foods?  I know it used to be my reason.  Corn Dogs, funnel cakes, and belgium waffles, yummy.

So yesterday we really wanted to go.  My wife is a teacher and they get a free ticket so we decided since it was the last day lets just go out there for a few hours.  Glad we did, as I said before it was a really nice day and by the time we left around 4ish, the crowds were still not that bad for being a Sunday.

Overall we had a really fun time and did a couple things we have not done at the fair in years past.  Here are a couple of pictures that I took.

Relief of the Flash Drive

I think my 2gb flash drive just isn’t doing it’s job anymore.  It finally failed me..  Wait, I guess I could say that I really out grew it.  So I found a 32gb flash drive that was on sale and ordered it up.  Today I finally started to move some data so I can take it with me Everywhere..  lol..  You never know when you will need that data.

It really comes in handy at work sometimes.  I use it to get drivers and bios updates that I download to new desktops and laptops that I’m building or rebuilding.  This helps out a lot.  It’s pretty fast running on usb 2.0 and so far I love the space it has.

I’m sure once the 64gb flash drives come down a little more in price I will probably jump to get one of those to.

The Painting is on the Wall…

Yep I almost crashed when I was driving downtown this morning.  They were not even going to tell me that I was a honored person and they were painting me on the wall..  lol

Weekend Wrapup (Oct. #1)

The weekend started off with a league soccer game.  Didn’t do to well on that one, we lost 0-2.  After the game I rushed home so I wouldn’t miss too much of the Oklahoma vs. Texas game.  Which was a pretty good game, but by now we all know the outcome.  And in case you missed it, Oklahoma lost which means they lost their #1 ranking as well.

Saturday night we went out to a quick (fast food) dinner since we left the house late and we were going to the movies.  ** Side note – Don’t spill your coke all over and in your wife’s new purse **  So after the clean up and finishing off our food, we headed to the theaters and watched ‘Fireproof’.  What a good movie.  If anyone left that movie theater with a dry eye just didn’t get it.  I highly recommend watching that movie.

Sunday early evening our friends invited us to ‘A Night of Hope’ with Joel Osteen.  This was pretty cool.  Never have seen him before in person and was a really fun outing with our friends to fellowship and spend some time with them and listen to Joel Osteen.  It was a good night.

Of course it’s now Monday and back to the busy work week.

Hope you all had a good weekend….

Game Time

Sooner Mazzie Dog is suited up watching the game..

Go SOONERS…!!!!

Last score was 21-17 with a few minutes left in the 1st half…

The Big Weekend is Here…

The 2008 Red River Rivalry.  (I still like Red River Shootout better)

Game takes place tomorrow in Dallas @ the Cotton Bowl around 11am cst.

Of course most will know that I will be cheering for Oklahoma and they better win and keep their #1 ranking in the country.  However, I do believe they will win tomorrow and go on to the National Championship this year…

Go Sooners..

Yesterday I received a letter from my health insurance company claiming I owe them $156.00 for 2 prescriptions that I got in the beginning of the month.  So I take the beating of calling the insurance company today, and wait for 10 minutes on hold just to find out that since my employer switched group numbers (and didn’t save us any money) she proceeded to tell me that from August 31st till September 22nd I basically wasn’t covered.

So insurance phone person said, “well you will have to take this up with your HR/Benefits person”

Oh great…  so I fire off an email…  and the response >>>
“Don’t worry, your not the only one.  I’m still looking into this.”

Sweet I’m not the only one, however I have a letter from the ‘collections dept.’ wanting their money.  Maybe the next time I’m checking out auto insurance quotes I will just get some health insurance quotes at the same time.
