Wii are Excited

Yes Wii finally decided to join the ranks of the Wii owners.

Over the last couple of months here and there we both have had a chance to play some games on it and my wife has enjoyed it every time she has played it.  We talked about getting that for our joint Christmas gift but early so we can enjoy it NOW…!  So last night we were at our friends house playing some boxing and doing our Wii age, etc.  So today I went out on my lunch break and picked up one.  I also got the Wii play so we had the extra controller and a few more games.  The cow racing looks pretty interesting.

We decided to get it today so we can take it with us to her parents house for thanksgiving.  Of course I cannot wait to get some real games, like Call of Duty and Fifa 09 and my wife really wants the Wii fit, but for now we get to explore the games that we have and how it all works and make our little Mii dudes and just have some fun with it.

Sunday Sunset

Like always I happen to take some nonsense, useless pictures from time to time, and then I take some that actually count.  Well at least count to me..

Last night I was taking a picture of our tree that is growing up since we first planted it a couple of years ago and it finally has enough leaves on it.  Here is a picture of our baby tree and a couple of the sunset that followed shortly after.

Do you get lost?

Back in the day I used to have issues with driving and getting lost.  Especially when I first started to drive.  I think it actually helped me in the long run, not only to find my way back, but it also taught me how to read a map more efficiently.  I would say I was pretty good at it.

When we moved to Texas a few years ago.  I guess it’s been 5 1/2 years now (wow time flies) the only way I was going to learn this huge network of highways (unlike the Renton, Seattle area) was to just drive and get lost.  Of course I had a map to help me out and not to mention my wife lived in the area we moved to for two years before we got married and I moved her to Seattle, but that another story.

So I would spend my days just driving back and forth between Dallas and Fort Worth learning the area while I went on job interviews.  Now (5 and 1/2 years later) technology has improved and so have the costs.  I wish I could have bought a Garmin GPS.  That would have saved lots of time calling my wife and thumbing through the map book.  Five years ago and moving here without a job, a gps was definitely not in the budget.  However if I ever move to another location where I’m unfamiliar I will definitely grab one and put it to good use.

The Weekend is Already Over

What a long but short weekend.  I know that really doesn’t make any since but that is what it felt like.  The first half started off really busy and the last half seemed to disappear rather quickly.  Friday night after work I started the weekend off by heading out to our soccer tournament.  It was FREEZING out.  I didn’t dress quite warm enough.  After the game (which we lost pretty bad) I cranked the car heater most of the way home.  My buddy Tim from Seattle called and I talked to him most of the way home so the time seemed to go by pretty fast, plus it helped to keep me awake.  Since the soccer field was about 1 hour from the house I didn’t make it home till about 10:35pm.  The bad news is I had to be back by 8:20am for our next game.  (hmmm why didn’t I just get a hotel room?  well probably the $$)

Our Saturday morning game was nothing short of a disaster.  0-10.  I can’t really explain what was said but I’m pretty sure the girls were not really happy.  Oh did I mention that Saturday was just as cold as Friday night?  yes it was, so I had about 1 hour to kill before the next game so I went down to Starbucks and got some hot chocolate to thaw out and write up some speech notes that I was going to deliver to the team after the next game.  We lost the next one also but it was 1-2 and they played much better than the first 2 games.

The rest of the weekend was rather uneventful.  Except the Flattening of Texas Tech by Oklahoma..  That was so awesome..

Anyways hope everyone had a good weekend.

More Memory – Maybe an Upgrade

Once you dive into the world of computers and electronics quite a few products require some type of memory to save things.  For us it’s mainly used for our digital camera, video camera and cell phones.  There are many types of memory but I’m talking about micro sd cards.

Recently I have upgraded my digital camera memory so I can keep more pictures without having to dump them to my laptop every day or two.  Now I can take a few days worth or even go on vacation without taking my laptop in fear of not having enough room to continue taking pictures.

My cell phone has a card so I can keep my photos, work files, and videos stored.  It really comes in handy.  And I’m sure the better the technology gets, the cheaper it will become in the long run.

Tournament Time Again

Tonight we have another tournament for our soccer team.  Chances look pretty decent to hopefully pull out at least 1 win tonight or tomorrow.  We have 3 games at a minimum.

The location is about a 50 minute drive so it’s not too far off.  However..  Right now the temps are about 48 and by the time the game starts should be colder with some wind.  So I hope us coaches and the players have their winter gear.  I know I pulled out my gloves and beanie last night to make sure I was prepared for tonight’s game.

I will update later tonight or tomorrow late afternoon on how we did..

Holiday Food Attacks

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching that can only mean one thing..  FOOD..!!  Yes with a double dose of Holiday foods can attack you from all sides.  So you have to watch out.  Then the day after Thanksgiving you have to start working out, drop a diet pill, and slow down the eating for a few weeks to catch up before the onslaught of Christmas FOOD..!!!

I’m really looking forward to having some turkey.  And it’s only 2 weeks away.  The desserts however I’m thankful I cannot eat, cause those really add to your stomach and then you end up in a food coma, LOL..

But I love this time of year and looking forward to seeing some family I haven’t seen in a long time next week, and be able to somewhat have 4 days off..  (I’m always on call)

Are you all ready for the thanksgiving weekend coming up?
