Now I’m pretty happy that Dallas did NOT make the playoffs. Yes I know I’m from this area, but never have been and most likely will not be a cowboys fan. That is OK. I’m a true home town fan of my ever losing Seattle Seahawks. Now in the past they have done pretty well but the last couple of years they keep going down hill. Next year is a new coach and hopefully everyone will be healed.
I would like to see the Cardinals, Colts, Dolphins and the Vikings make this round. Of course that is who I would like to see win and move on.
Sometimes I really don’t understand why we do things the way we do. For instance, our family room. We use TV trays for our laptops probably because they are pretty simple to put away if some unexpected company comes knocking on the door. We have a bookcase and a tv stand which probably needs to be replaced, but I think I will wait till after I get a Flat screen.
Of course it’s usually a mess but we try our best to clean it up. In fact tonight when we got back from our Christmas vacation we did some picking up. And now I’m relaxing in the family room on the laptop typing this post.
I totally forgot that my Uncle got a new car with a turbocharger in it Wow is it ever fast.
Tonight at dinner with my parents, wife and a couple of friends, we started talking about cars in general and it would be awesome to have a really fast car with turbo. We talked about some Audi’s and Ferrari’s and a few BMW’s. It was a good ole time especially since I haven’t seen my friend in quite some time. Of course a lot of nice cars were not out and about including my Uncles since all the snow is melting and it’s raining off and on.
One of these days I will possibly get a car with a turbo on it. Let the tickets begin. Ha Ha Ha
For some healthy cooking. It’s time for change that’s for sure. Better cooking and eating better. Not to mention the occasional working out at the local gym. Yes those are some of my goals next year. I do have some pretty big ones too.
The main priority is eating healthier and working out. That is the number 1 goal for 2009. I think eating better and healthier will go a long ways and pay off even in the short term of things. Working out, well that’s even tougher to do since we all have busy schedules, but I really need to change some things around as this will have to be a bigger priority now then it has been in the past. I’m sure I will talk more about the 2009 goals later this week or next but do you have any goals set out for 2009 yet?
It’s Christmas time, and that usually means lots of chocolate, goodies, candy, etc. Also means a time to use a acne treatment. It’s not often, but this time of year adds to the potential. This year I did pretty good, since I cannot eat most cookies, but the candy and chocolate, yeah I did a good job with those. In fact I will have to leave some behind. I just cannot eat it all.
Hopefully I will not break out. So far so good, but with today being our last day with family, I just might have more cause in 2009 no more. Now on to some healthy cooking.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas..
Last night on the 23rd we went over to my cousins for a little while which was nice since we have been couped up in the house with all the snow that has blessed us. Over the fall they have had a huge remodel project on their house and for awhile she had sent pictures, but we never received any final pictures after it was all done.
A couple weeks ago I was going to ask about them but figured since we were flying up rather soon, I would just wait and see it. Wow..!! It looked so amazing and their kitchen and living room size both doubled in my opinion. It looked really nice. White cabinets, wood flooring, Stainless appliances and many other options. One thing I really liked was the island. They had put a sitting/breakfast bar on one side and a second oven on the other. Very nicely done. I hope to grab some picture when we go back over there for card/game night Friday night.
It all started about 4am when the alarms went off and we hurried to get ready in time for the shuttle to pick us up. Once we got to the airport I slightly freaked out since there were hundreds of people in the ticketing area. Thankfully they all were not going to the same airline as us. Security was very light at 6am and in fact we just walked up with no line to wait in. Then the normal wait before boarding, etc. So as we begin to board and we pass through the first area my wife and I heard a crackle in the radio and they said to halt boarding for a potential maintenance issue. “Oh great” was our first thought. So what we did was sit or should I say stand in between the plane and the boarding area on the Jetway. I knew from past flying experience that if we got on the plane we were stuck and they would not let us off for any reason. So we just stood there watching these people look over the plane. After awhile we asked the boarding agent if we could come back out to the seating area and she said if we did they would have to take us off the plane. “oh great” So now we wait in limbo. After awhile we hear that there is a dent in the plane and they are talking with corporate about it and people on the ground were taking pictures, etc.
So to make a longer story shorter, they finally take everyone off of the plane and we go find some comfy seats and sit it out while they fix this dent. We were supposed to take off at 7:30am and I think we finally made it about 1:30pm. So we had a nice 6 hour delay. What we were really worried about was the pending storms that were going to hit Seattle.
Yep we didn’t beat them, in fact in snowed about 1″ I do believe before we got there. I swear we were going to slide off of the runway. As I sit and write this on Christmas Eve, It’s snowing again. So far 2″ this morning on top of the 10-12″ we already had on the ground. So looks like this will be a white Christmas after all.
It’s so beautiful to watch but we are stuck with a car that is not snow worthy.
More trip updates later.
