Weekend is Here.. Ah… Finally.

Ah It’s finally here, the weekend is upon us.

This week has been pretty rough.  Work, being sick, soccer, etc.  A lot going on when your not feeling good.  I should be working it out of my system on a treadmill, but i think that will have to wait. I did have soccer tomorrow but just got a call from my father in-law and he is in the hospital so we are about to hit the road for 2.5 hours to be there. I hope everything goes well, and we will know more when we get there.

So I guess I will save my post for now as I will be gone most of the weekend.

Blah, Sickness..!

I hate being sick.  And it’s really not that bad.  I usually get sinus infections about 1-2 times per year and thankfully that’s usually about it.  I cannot remember the last time I had the flu.  So the last few days my throat started being really scratchy.  Not really hurting so to speak, but just there.

So yesterday morning it hit.  I knew right away what it was. ugh!!  So yesterday at lunch time I made my way to buy more over the counter items.  Started taking them and still felt blah, but last night I seemed to have a really good nights sleep and this morning when I awoke I was feeling pretty good and thought I might have shaken it off, but as the day progresses today, not so much.  I guess if nothing changes by tomorrow morning I might have to head to the docs.

We have some friends not feeling good.

I’m not really sure whats going on.  For some reason right now we seem to know about 4 people with cancer.  Pretty scary stuff.  One is five years old, one is thirteen, and 2 older people.  I’m not sure what kind of cancer they have but I’m pretty sure it’s not Mesothelioma.  Haley the five year old has been battling it now for over one year.  Right now she is day to day and there is not much more they can do.  A friend at work, her cousin just had a bone marrow transplant.  He was in pretty bad shape.  I haven’t heard of a new update but I think he is doing OK.

Cancer is pretty scary if you ask me.  I pray for our friends and others who are going through this and battling this horrible disease.

Ready for the Weekend?

I sure am.  Although I have a busy schedule, it will take my mind off of the 40 + hours I spend doing my work.

I think tonight I will play some Wii (which I did *fifa 09*) .  I got a new game recently and haven’t had a chance to play it yet.  Tomorrow morning I will wake up and I might actually head to the gym.  That way I can avoid weight loss products. Then I’m off to another soccer game.  Hopefully we will do good tomorrow.  After that, I’m off and running to a friend’s to learn some Adobe Illustrator and I’m going to teach him some web skills.  Then a small break before heading off to dinner and then to the Chris Tomlin concert.

And that is just Saturday.  Wow..  Of course I hope to get some rest in there somewhere.  Sunday just has two things on the agenda outside of the house and about 3-4 things in or around the house that need some attention.

Oh and I’m sure I will need to remote into work and do some of that too so my Monday won’t be that crazy..

What are your plans?

Christmas with a Fundraiser

I was thinking about to this last Christmas.  Yes I know it’s February but I was thinking of how good this idea was.  My cousin does this for her school or church and they do it the last couple of weeks in November.  They have a fundraiser by selling gift cards.  It’s actually a pretty good idea.  She shows us a list with a ton of stores on them and the percentage profit they make off of each sale.

Might be something my soccer team could do this summer for a fundraiser.

What I really liked though, is that we could get a bunch of gift cards, help out my cousin with her trip and also have gifts to give away.

Happy Valentines Day

Wishing my wife a lovely valentines day today.  Also our friend Cindy who birthday is today also..!!

Our Trip Yesterday

Yesterday we had a little fun trip to surprise Leslie’s dad on his retirement day.  They live a short drive away.  I think the round trip total was 321 miles.

We left early about 6:20am and when we got into town we picked up a bunch of balloons and then headed over to their house.  We rang the doorbell, and the look on her mom’s face was priceless.  It was a fun day.   We went out to lunch and sat around most of the day just listening to some of his stories from the past.  It was a good day.  We headed on home about 6:15pm.  Leslie and just chatted our way home.  We talked about church, her co-worker who was looking at engagement rings, and my soccer team and their game this weekend. We arrived home about 8:45pm.

It was a long, long day but very well worth it.

Do you need a Tip?

Bella True is a site I ran across with tons of jewelry.  While I was checking out the site and browsing around I found this cool section called “Tips for Guys”

On this section there are 9 different areas or TIPS sections to help you pick out the perfect piece of jewelry.  For instance picking the Anniversary section will show a few samples of earrings and rings and then it also lists the traditional anniversary stones by year.

Here are the 9 sections you need to check out to help out the guys.  Oh wait that will include me too..

  • What to Give, When
  • The Big Four: A Guide
  • The Engagement Ring, Explained
  • Rings for The Big Day
  • When “I’m Sorry” Isn’t Enough
  • Special Days
  • Anniversary Guide
  • Color Her World
  • Gemstones by Color

I truly believe this will help a lot of guys out selecting the right (perfect) piece of jewelry for the spouse, girl friend, other half, etc. based on what the occasion is or life event.  Wedding, dating, etc.  Check them out!

They have a really good selection of jewelry.  It ranges from Rings, Bridal, Earrings and Bracelets to Necklaces and Pendants.
Here are a couple of pictures:
