Backyard Wishin’

Last weekend we were running around picking up some things for the house after an awesome church service and then lunch at one of our favorite places.  We walked through the home and garden section (we always like to do that) checking out all the cool stuff and talk about what would be awesome to have for our house.  Well we ran across a bunch of outdoor dining sets that looked really nice. We pondered for a bit on what we wanted to do and continued our shopping.

Now that I think about it, the backyard is the last thing we really put money into.  It’s the last thing any of our friends or guests see or visit, so it’s the last to get any type of attention.  One of these days though I’m going to change it so we can spend more time out back in the nice weather then on the inside (except of course when it’s over 100 out)

Today’s Adventure

So today I was on a mission.  “To get out of the house” hahaha..  Actually I had an agenda.  Goto Fry’s, Academy Sports, Game Stop if needed, then a haircut and then to a good friends house to help him do some web design work.

So my first stop is always the worst.  And what I mean by that is FRY’s.  It’s my candy store really….  So my main focus was to get 2 new laptop mice since one of ours died and the other one, well might as well..  Then I checked on the computer games and started looking at WoW (World of Warcraft) ..  not sure what I was thinking.  So I left with just two mice.  Next stop, Academy Sports.  While looking for some sandals, work called with a server down so while trying to check out some sandals, I had to help get the server running.  I like Academy as they have such a HUGE assortment of foot wear although I didn’t see any UGG Australia wear.  So after finding something that might work, and ran over and grabbed some new soccer shorts and I was out the door.

So, Game Stop was next and I was out of luck.  Haircut yep same deal.  Came home grabbed the laptop, headed to another Game Stop and snagged WoW and the 1st Expansion.  Then off to my friends house for a few hours and finally got my hair cut after that on the way home.    WOW..  Seemed like I was busy all day today.

Leaking Faucet

I really need to fix the kitchen sink faucet.  It drips all the time.  You would think I would run out and get a fix it kit or something.  While I’m there I might as well take a look at the Moen faucets and I might just replace the darn thing. I’m pretty sure it couldn’t be that hard right?

Has anyone fixed a leak or replaced a faucet?  Hmm, just wondering cause I don’t have my remodelers license, lol.  I can barely caulk the bathroom floor, lol.  I wonder if there are any classes for learning? I will have to check into that.  But like I said I might just have to replace the whole thing as they may not make a repair kit.  I better check on that this weekend so we will quit wasting water and our growing water bill…

More Clouds [again]

I love clouds.  I cannot help it.  I love to take pictures of different angles of the clouds, etc.  I grab a couple shots the other morning and I’m going to post them now.  Also that afternoon in traffic I saw this bright pink almost candy looking paint job (reminds me of my lowrider days) and decided to snap a picture of that as well.

What to Do

I have been trying wanting to turn this extra room (retreat) that we have off of our master bedroom into a semi home theater.  The other day at a local furniture store we saw some cool chairs that would fit perfectly in the space we have.  So doing some online searching I came across Berkline home theater furniture.  Wow these are SO cool.  You should take a look at them.

After searching their site some more, their prices seem to be pretty reasonable as well.  However, our receiver for our surround sound on our main TV just went out so I guess that will be the first thing to start working on.  It’s truly a bummer let me tell you after watching movies with enhanced sound and now going back to the original TV sound speakers.

Hopefully I can find a good deal on one.

New Office Again

I posted probably almost one year ago about having my current office re-done into something more practical and usable.  Well I get to move again and will get new office furniture.  I think I will be getting new carpet as well, which will be nice.  I think I need a new chair, but don’t want to push my luck just yet.

I will most likely have to share the office just like the one I’m in but that’s OK, cause I think it will be some time before that happens.  I like new office furniture.  This will be a great new start to getting a test network up and running and having an eyeball on the server room at the same time.  I’m sure my new office mate will not like to hear the buzzing of servers all the time, but it should only be for a few months at the minimum.  They will just have to get used to it.

We are trying to figure out what we should do this summer.  We usually make an annual trip up to Seattle to see my family.  Now we have or maybe I should say I have thought about it, but there is so much going on I’m not sure we can get away for at least one week and head up that way.  Also thought about checking out some Las Vegas hotels since my cousin still lives in Vegas. Hmmm, another idea was to head down south to Fredericksburg, Texas to a bed and breakfast. (I found a Gluten-free one)

I really wish we could go one a REAL vacation, but we are trying to save up as much money as possible since we are hopefully adopting a child this year.  Maybe we should just take a few short weekend trips, instead of expensive long range flights..  Hmmm  we will have to continue the debate on this one.

Crazy Times at Work

It’s really good but we are just crazy busy at work.  We have a quite a few big projects that we or I am planning that will need to take place in May.  My boss is in need of a few KVM switches to get all his computers hooked up in his new office.  That way he can configure our new load balancer (Fat Pipe) and our new watchguard firewall.  He is pretty busy too.

One of my major projects is to re-cable our patch panel and switch.  We ordered some custom cables and some new cable management items and they should be in late next week.  So 1st or 2nd weekend of May we will take it down and get it all nice and pretty.  Then our backup project.  WOW this is a killer.  We are trying to determine what will be the best for our company.  It’s tough and a lot of money so we are not trying to rush into a quick decision.

Next project after that is to buy another new server to test and deploy Exchange 2007.  I’m pretty excited about this, however I know it will be a long road.  Especially since I have to split my time between all the other daily tasks and emergency’s.  (I need my co-worker to step it up)

Oh well at least right now it’s Friday night and will think about all of this later in the weekend.
