Once you dive into the world of computers and electronics quite a few products require some type of memory to save things.  For us it’s mainly used for our digital camera, video camera and cell phones.  There are many types of memory but I’m talking about micro sd cards.

Recently I have upgraded my digital camera memory so I can keep more pictures without having to dump them to my laptop every day or two.  Now I can take a few days worth or even go on vacation without taking my laptop in fear of not having enough room to continue taking pictures.

My cell phone has a card so I can keep my photos, work files, and videos stored.  It really comes in handy.  And I’m sure the better the technology gets, the cheaper it will become in the long run.

I think my 2gb flash drive just isn’t doing it’s job anymore.  It finally failed me..  Wait, I guess I could say that I really out grew it.  So I found a 32gb flash drive that was on sale and ordered it up.  Today I finally started to move some data so I can take it with me Everywhere..  lol..  You never know when you will need that data.

It really comes in handy at work sometimes.  I use it to get drivers and bios updates that I download to new desktops and laptops that I’m building or rebuilding.  This helps out a lot.  It’s pretty fast running on usb 2.0 and so far I love the space it has.

I’m sure once the 64gb flash drives come down a little more in price I will probably jump to get one of those to.

Most of the office complete but a few things that are still left.  I guess its been 1 week now since we moved back in.  So far I like it, but I think I would have done a few things different if I had to do it over, that’s for sure.

Often when I need new computer parts I tend to ask others what they think or I tend to check out online stores.  Of course there are many of places on the Internet to shop and buy computer parts and systems.  One place I like to check out has a pretty cool tag line:

“One can always find a best buy at www.buy.com”

This place has tons of items and accessories and computer stuff and other things.  The have tons of sales and weekly specials.  I think you should check them out on your next electronic purchase or when you are pricing some items out.

Last week I enabled a plugin that allowed the Do Follow on links that were put into comments on my posts.  I got the idea from a good blogging friend (BioTeck) and since he is a graphics guy he made himself a cool little badge to announce that his blog follows comments.  So he was kind enough to make me a similar one with the colors I provided.  It’s awesome..  It’s over to your right as your reading this under my entrecard blog of the day.

Also I added another plugin called commentluv.  This enables you if you wish to have your last blog post and link show up when you leave a comment on my site.  Another idea from Bioteck.  And speaking of Bioteck you should check out his blog.  He is also creating a massive list of commentluv blogs.  So if you are using commentluv on your blog, please stop by his blog and get your name added to the list!

The office is about 1/2 packed up now and I have 1 of my 2 computers already in another location for the next 2 days.  One of the guys came in today and said it will take them 1.5 days to get it all done.  If they were not going to paint then it would probably be just one day.

For my wife’s birthday a couple weeks ago, I decided to replace her aging old p4 laptop that she has been using for awhile now.  She really needed something new.  Not to mention that every time there was an issue and I had to work on it, the slowness would always kill me.  Most of the laptops these days are pretty decent with the specs they come with, but with Vista I wanted to make sure it would handle the new OS.

So I found a pretty decent Toshiba on sale that was in a pretty good price range for me.  It came with a dual proc cpu and 2 gigs of computer memory, a 160gb hard drive which is a pretty good sized drive, DVD burner, and all the little stuff.

So far she is pretty happy with it and it turned out to be a good birthday!

So with the massive download day upon us, and after trying for about 45min I finally got in via the ftp site someone posted on twitter.

I didn’t have a chance to install it till just a little while ago, but it’s finally installed.  (at least on one computer)

Now some of my extensions didn’t work but that’s OK cause I’m sure they will rather soon as the authors start getting things updated, but the main ones I got to work.  Then I went to find a new theme/skin, however you prefer and this is what I came up with so far:

Looking forward to getting more themes and extensions installed and to play with them…
