After our last move into our current house, I told my wife I didn’t want to move for a very long time, and so far it’s been almost 4 years. I know for others, depending on the situation, they have no control over that and have to move every year or two.
I think the worst part is the actual packing and loading. Before that you have to gather some items. Packing material, bubble wrap, various types of boxes, like, shipping boxes, big boxes, medium and little, and possibly dish pan size. We just had some friends move. Actually two sets. I wonder what they used. They probably just threw some things together in whatever they had.
I’m sure this won’t be our last move. But I hope can be organized and ready when the time comes.
He lost his job back in January. Last time I checked he was still looking for one. Unfortunately in this down economy there isn’t much in the way of leads and jobs. I don’t think he is really up for a job change but he could look at some Wall St jobs and could relocate.
Last I heard he is taking some classes to expand his training to help out moving forward in the job hunt. I’m trying to find something down here in Texas , but not sure he is really ready to move. However he may have to move where the jobs are. I really hope he finds something soon…
I sure am. Although I have a busy schedule, it will take my mind off of the 40 + hours I spend doing my work.
I think tonight I will play some Wii (which I did *fifa 09*) . I got a new game recently and haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Tomorrow morning I will wake up and I might actually head to the gym. That way I can avoid weight loss products. Then I’m off to another soccer game. Hopefully we will do good tomorrow. After that, I’m off and running to a friend’s to learn some Adobe Illustrator and I’m going to teach him some web skills. Then a small break before heading off to dinner and then to the Chris Tomlin concert.
And that is just Saturday. Wow.. Of course I hope to get some rest in there somewhere. Sunday just has two things on the agenda outside of the house and about 3-4 things in or around the house that need some attention.
Oh and I’m sure I will need to remote into work and do some of that too so my Monday won’t be that crazy..
What are your plans?
Wishing my wife a lovely valentines day today. Also our friend Cindy who birthday is today also..!!
Right now it’s pretty tough out there. I’m thankful I have my job. My friend however not so lucky. He was caught up in the Washington Mutual disaster. January 31st was his last day. I’m not sure if he found a job yet, but I pray he does. With the economy the way it is and in certain over saturated city markets, I bet IT jobs are hard to find. I guess my friend and all the others who got word better get out and start doing some job searches.
I don’t know the actual numbers but the unemployment rate is off the charts and I highly doubt that this so called stimulus bill that was passed will actually help out anytime soon, if at all. I’m just thankful that I do have my job and hope that all looking will find some light at the end of the tunnel soon and find something.
The other day some good friends came over for some lunch and a bunch of Wii playing. After we went to lunch and started playing the Wii fit, we started talking about diet pills in conjunction with the Wii fit. The conversation was short lived.
The background noise of the Wii took all of our attention as we played this game we rented so all 4 of us could play at the same time. It was mario vs sonic Summer Olympics. It was fun. Good times. We finished up the laughing and playing with some talk that we should really start working out. I just always seem to come up with an excuse, but I really need to change that and we will see what happens in the next couple of weeks to months.
So tonight the wife and I and 2 friends are heading in to Dallas to watch ‘A Christmas Carol‘. It should be lots of fun I’m certain. The last time I went to a play or musical was over 5 years ago. I think the last one was Beauty and the Beast (which was really great). Our friends go every year and watch this, so it will be our first time.
Maybe tonight will spark or renew interest in going to more plays through out the year. I would love to see Phantom of the Opera. I’m trying to think back at all the other ones I have seen in the past and which were my favorites.
What I have seen:
Showboat
Grease (with Rosie OD – Long time ago)
Peter Pan
Stomp
Beauty and the Beast
I’m sure there are a couple more I just can’t remember them. One of these days I have a goal/dream to go to a play in New York on Broadway.
scrapbooking that is. For the longest time I could never figure out the hype about it really. About one year ago our neighbors across the street had a room, somewhat like a home office, set up just for scrapbooking. And come to find out that her mom and her have a business doing scrapbooking retreats. Wow I would have never known.
So a couple weeks ago we were at the wal-mart super center picking up a few things and as we were looking around we ran across the crafts/hobby section. I couldn’t believe just how much stuff wal-mart had. They have tons of stuff, so I can only imagine what a real hobby store would have on the shelf.
Speaking of hobbies, some day I want to finish up a bunch of car models I started on (1/24th scale) and start doing some military and car dioramas.
Do you have any hobbies?
