Wow it’s Sunday night already. Another weekend down. This weekend seemed to move really slow. Wait.. Maybe that’s cause I didn’t do a thing today but just sit here all day long.
OK, so it started off yesterday with some soccer practice. That was a fun 2 hours in the sun. Then I helped my wife get her classroom ready for the kiddo’s that start tomorrow. I finished up the night watching Street Kings, which I have to say was a really good movie.
This morning I played around with mazzie (our dog) and lounging around really. I did some work around the house but not much really. Ended up watching Coyote Ugly. Not too bad of a movie really. Then we watched this new DVD I got. David Crowder Band Remedy DVD + CD.. That was simply awesome. Finished up the night and currently watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.
Now don’t get me wrong I like watching the Olympics but sometimes when they show the same sport over and over again (*cough, cough, swimming, gymnastics, diving, volleyball) it gets old quick.
So did you all have a good weekend?

Sometimes I wish I had a Corvette.
The car is simply amazing with tons of horsepower and awesome looks. I found this site with a huge amount of Corvette accessories. They have pretty much anything you would want to add to your Corvette. One of the first things I would do is to add these awesome glow gauges. They look so cool. Then I would follow it up with some special corvette seat covers and a complete car cover.
They have so many accessories it’s unreal. Everything from floor mats, front end bra’s to custom head lights or tail lights. Need better exhaust or some new wheels? Check them out and boost up your Corvette. Want some flair? They have some really awesome body kits you can add, or just stylize yourself with some Corvette apparel.
Like I said, if I owned a Corvette this is the site I would frequent and I’m sure they would get all my money to trick out my Corvette.
We have had our house now about 3 years and although not quite ready to do a major remodel but there are some things around the house that could be upgraded. Yeah that’s it.
A couple things off the top of the list would be to replace this vinyl floors in the kitchen and bathrooms and throw down some ceramic tile. The carpet is still in really good shape so no need to replace that. Oh and speaking of the bathrooms, I would love to change out the faucets and maybe upgrade them to some nice Delta faucets. I think the shower heads need to be replaced also. Now on to the other parts of the house.
We still have never painted, so I think this might be the cheaper solution to make the biggest impact. We already started the front landscaping, except we haven’t finished it, lol..!!! I think those are a few of the major things we want to start on.
Now we just have to get started getting some things done!
A few women around work are getting ready to have babies. In fact one was born about 2 weeks ago, and I think 2 more are on the way. I was thinking about various things you could get someone who is having a baby. Now of course I really only have ideas, as I myself have not had a child but I can assume some of the basic things you will need (especially for a first time parent).
Among all the diapers, lotions, wipes, etc. I think one would need some big things. A Maclaren stroller, crib, high chair, furniture for the bedroom, etc.
Of course one good way to get this stuff is to hold a couple of baby showers or register with a baby store.
Maybe one of these days my wife and I might have a baby, or yet adopt..!!!
Most of the office complete but a few things that are still left. I guess its been 1 week now since we moved back in. So far I like it, but I think I would have done a few things different if I had to do it over, that’s for sure.

Here is another edition of some local short news stories from around my area!
Fort Worth:
Pier 1 is saying that they are going to close 20 to 25 stores by year end. However the lucky people in the Dallas, Fort Worth Metroplex are saved as they said they shouldn’t be closing any of those stores.
DFW Airport:
Watch what your doing or else you might have your arm ran over by a forklift! They airlifted him to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Grand Prairie:
What happens when you try to cover up something suspicious and don’t want anyone to find out about it? You get stopped for a traffic violation and then the cops see suspicious package and it turns out to be ammonia (mainly used for meth (methamphetamine). I guess they wont be dealing meth till they get some more.
Fort Worth:
Police got lucky looking for narcotics just to find out that the house they raided was running a pirating ring. Police say they counted 113 burners, 3800 blank cd’s, 7000 blank dvd’s. They were capable of producing 6700 discs per hour. — Link: Star-Telegram
Well almost..
My wife and about 13 others from our church are leaving tomorrow for a 1 week church planting mission trip to Xalapa. Mexico. They are going with next worldwide, and last night they had there last minute meeting and prayer time. Saturday morning they have to be at the airport at 4:30am, yes you read that right, 4:30 in the MORNING. And guess who gets to take a few of them to the airport, yes me..!! he he (it doesn’t bother me)
They have a quick flight to Mexico City and then a 4 hour layover.. (that should be fun, not!) and then a quick hop (less than 1 hour) to there destination. You know what would be awesome for them. If they had a private jet charter and it took them on a direct non-stop flight. Yeah that would be really awesome.
Anyways I really hope and pray that the mission trip will be a success and the other church as well as Next Worldwide and our church all come back safe and healthy.
Lately with the rising gas prices (that never seem to stop rising) some people are trying to find new ways to conserve or save money while commuting around. Face it, gas prices stink really bad.
The news really tries to tell the story of the changing prices and changing methods for transportation. One problem that some face, especially here in North Texas is the public transportation. It’s horrible. I remember back to when I was working in Seattle and I would take the bus every day to work. It only cost me like $75 for a monthly pass. But for those who can take public transportation it could save you a lot of money! Also you see people (familiar or not) trading in their SUV’s and Trucks for Motorcycles or used Harleys as they get really good gas mileage. The only drawback to this, is we might have a bunch of new riders that have never owned a motorcycle and in heavy traffic could cause issues with inexperience.
Other ways if you live close enough to work, are electric cars, hybrids, bicycles, scooters, etc. Hopefully at some point these prices will drop off and make it reasonable again to have some fun around town and not judge your fun by cost per mile!
For those who celebrate it, HAPPY 4TH of JULY…
YEAH…
So tonight after dinner we drove down to Wally World to get 2 things. And when I say 2 things, that doesn’t mean we left with 2 things! ha ha
We have been wanting to do something with our front flower bed ever since we moved into our house and just have never done anything with it. So as we are walking in to the lawn and garden section (I had to get a new sprinkler) we stopped by the plants. After about 10 minutes of going back and forth, we decided this was the weekend, and let’s just get it done.
For starters we already have 5 4.5 holly bushes and we want to keep those. So we ended up with 7 plants, 5 bags of cedar mulch and 6 bags of top soil. Tomorrow afternoon we are going to Lowe’s and buying 23 rock blocks to border the flower bed and then Saturday getting down and dirty, lol.. I’m sure all my blogging friends want to come to North Texas and help us out since it will be like 98 Saturday.
I plan on taking pics throughout this whole process. Not only is this my first MAJOR outdoor project, we both really don’t know what we are doing, lol…..
Pictures to come….
