Happy Easter

I’m thankful for new life through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Luke 24:1-8

The Resurrection

1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8Then they remembered his words.

Luke 23:32-49

Good Friday, the Death of Jesus, the Start of Easter weekend and Jesus’ Resurrection!!!

NIV:

32Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

35The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

36The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar 37and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”

38There was a written notice above him, which read:|sc THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

40But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

43Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Jesus’ Death
44It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, 45for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

47The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” 48When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. 49But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

Ready for the Weekend?

I sure am.  Although I have a busy schedule, it will take my mind off of the 40 + hours I spend doing my work.

I think tonight I will play some Wii (which I did *fifa 09*) .  I got a new game recently and haven’t had a chance to play it yet.  Tomorrow morning I will wake up and I might actually head to the gym.  That way I can avoid weight loss products. Then I’m off to another soccer game.  Hopefully we will do good tomorrow.  After that, I’m off and running to a friend’s to learn some Adobe Illustrator and I’m going to teach him some web skills.  Then a small break before heading off to dinner and then to the Chris Tomlin concert.

And that is just Saturday.  Wow..  Of course I hope to get some rest in there somewhere.  Sunday just has two things on the agenda outside of the house and about 3-4 things in or around the house that need some attention.

Oh and I’m sure I will need to remote into work and do some of that too so my Monday won’t be that crazy..

What are your plans?

Podcast / Audio Book

OK so check this out.  A couple months ago I found this website for a sci-fi audio book which is pretty awesome I must say.  It’s called ‘The Leviathan Chronicles’  Very well done and a work in progress.  In fact right now he is only up to chapter 16 and 17 should be dropped any day.  I do recommend you checking it out.

While listening to this audio book, he made a reference (at least I’m pretty sure) to this author J.C. Hutchins and his audio book (podcast, etc.) called the ‘7th Son Trilogy‘.  I listened to a snippet of it and wasn’t really sure what to think as I’m not or least have not been a huge sci-fi fan.  But let me tell you this.  This was one of the best , I repeat best, sci-fi I have ever listened to.  I just finished up with book 3: Destruction and wow this was just awesome! awesome! awesome!
In fact so good, when it come out in print I’m going to buy a copy and send it to my dad cause I know he will enjoy it as well.

Go check it out and take a listen, you will not be disappointed.

Finally getting to it

Back on December 5th I took some more ‘Sunset while driving’ shots out of the sunroof.  It was pretty good timing and I think they turned out well for the camera I have.  Just wanted to share two shots with you all.  Have a Happy Friday!

Morning Beauty

Right before I left this morning for work, I walked out back to water the flowers before another 100+ degree day.  (They say this will be day 12 of the last 13 for 100+)  When I got out back, the sky looked so awesome and it looked like parts of it were on fire.  So I went in and grabbed my crappy camera and snapped some shots of it.

After I left for work I was driving north and saw some cool rain clouds so I snapped a few pictures of those clouds too.  Here is one of them:

Evening Visitor

This was just crazy. I wish I knew more about video but for now pictures will do. I was sitting dropping some Entrecards and out of the corner of my eye I see this big flying shadow that landed on our back fence. So I take an easy approach off of the couch and slide to the floor cause I don’t want to scare it off. Then I realize, wow this is some type of hawk. At first I thought it just landed to view the grass area behind us until my wife pointed out that it had something in it’s talons.

After we started watching this bird eat dinner (on our fence) we started to discuss what it could be eating. First we thought it was a mouse or rat then we moved to maybe a mole. Then it hit us.. No long tail, so it was a baby bunny.

This was just crazy watching this happen in our yard, and watching the hawk consume this animal. Then the bad part, the hawk didn’t eat the whole thing so we had to go clean up some of it’s insides off the fence and some fur that was spread everywhere. But wow, it was cool to watch.. Here are a couple of pictures.

Memoir Time

I was tagged by Peak9 and to fulfill the tagging request here is what I need to do.
I need to create a memoir of me in 6 words.

This wasn’t easy, but the more I thought about everything it was actually pretty simple.

My Memoir:  Lost man who is now saved!

I think that one fits perfectly.

Normally I would tag a few blogs at this point, but truthfully I don’t think any would respond.  :) lol

I would love to hear yours if you would like to participate..  you can comment here or even post it on your own blog!!!
