Last night it was late and we knew we were cutting it close but we drove down to this local barbeque place that we frequent quite a bit. Since most everything is pre-cooked we usually just tell them what we want, they hand it to us and off we go to our seat to eat.
So we get there last night about 8:45pm (yes they close at 9) and we get our food and we are paying for it. Then miss attitude starts. No not my wife hehe, but one of the workers at this establishment and here was her quote, “If I get another to-go order tonight I’m going to cut someones head off.” I looked at the cashier as was like, I’m glad mine is not to go and then looked at my wife and we kind of chuckled but in the ‘that was rude’ type of chuckle.
So we sit down and we just happen to pick a place close to where this girl was going to be doing her “Closing Duties.” The entire time we were there she was having a cow. At one point she slammed a tray down on the counter cause I guess she needed to roll up some forks and knives and then by 5 minutes after 9 with probably 20 people left “Still EATING” she started to undo all the nozzles from the fountain drinks and took away all the tea so basically no one could get any refills. This poor guy didn’t know and went up to get some more coke and hit the switch and crapped sprayed all over him. Did she stop him and tell him it’s down… NO.. she just let him do it. Then she was rude to a little boy asking if there was still any ice cream to buy.
It was really painful. Part of me wanted to extend my stay awhile just to see what would happen. I’m going to write in to the management about this cause in my opinion, you are there to service the customer and not talk about cutting off heads and slamming things around, etc. etc.
Hope she got a good nights sleep, lol…
The weekend started off with a league soccer game. Didn’t do to well on that one, we lost 0-2. After the game I rushed home so I wouldn’t miss too much of the Oklahoma vs. Texas game. Which was a pretty good game, but by now we all know the outcome. And in case you missed it, Oklahoma lost which means they lost their #1 ranking as well.
Saturday night we went out to a quick (fast food) dinner since we left the house late and we were going to the movies. ** Side note – Don’t spill your coke all over and in your wife’s new purse ** So after the clean up and finishing off our food, we headed to the theaters and watched ‘Fireproof’. What a good movie. If anyone left that movie theater with a dry eye just didn’t get it. I highly recommend watching that movie.
Sunday early evening our friends invited us to ‘A Night of Hope’ with Joel Osteen. This was pretty cool. Never have seen him before in person and was a really fun outing with our friends to fellowship and spend some time with them and listen to Joel Osteen. It was a good night.
Of course it’s now Monday and back to the busy work week.
Hope you all had a good weekend….

But it’s really hard to get into a routine and start working out. Back in January I went at least every Wednesday and got at least 1 hour in. And I occasionally play indoor soccer and coach, so it’s not like I’m just sitting around right? Maybe I need Orovo detox to jump start things.
I really think it’s all about eating right and being diligent in exercise. Yes I know it’s easier said than done. So my goal for the rest of this month (May) is to go at least 3-4 times. That would be a good start for me. I already coach soccer 3 times per week and play soccer at least once, so I think that would be a good start. Now if I can just cut out the Pepsi and the Monster drinks, I bet I would really jump start this..
I can’t believe how fast gas is moving up and up.
Back in March I thought the prices were getting pretty high around here but here are the last 2 days worth of prices from a gas station next to the highway.
4-21:
Reg. Unleaded $3.48/gallon
Middle Unleaded $3.63/gallon
Super Unleaded $3.78/gallon
4-22:
Reg. Unleaded $3.51/gallon
Middle Unleaded $3.66/gallon
Super Unleaded $3.81/gallon
Now I’m sure that some people that read this would be like, wow that is cheap or is cheaper than my area, and I get that. But in the past 5 years I have been in Texas it has NEVER been this high. Simply outrageous!!!
I’m going to key an eye on this and see how well it fluctuates this week and will report back.
I just found out that I have a chance to be in an online treasure hunt thanks to Jewelelegance.com.
Looks like jewelry is the key in this hunt and I could use some earrings, diamond rings or other jewelry. After I post this I will hopefully get my entry into the treasure hunt and then I will get to start on Monday. These blogging contests are so much fun! I hope it all goes well.
So this morning I was able to join my family at Emerald Downs Horse Racing Track to watch 3 of his horses workout. It was fun to be back at the track. In Grand Prairie Lone Star Park usually is open from April to July for Thoroughbreds so it’s been awhile since I have been back to the track.
Usually we go every opening night at Lone Star Park, but it was last Thursday which I was in Seattle so I couldn’t go and Emerald Downs hasn’t opened yet.
Here in the yellow cap is one of my uncles horses:

After watching the 3 horses (not the 3 above) we went up to the trainers barn (about 15min away) to see the new Philly. RC Gangster (Uncles Horse) had a baby 6 days ago. She was so soft and fluffy. he he…
Here is a picture of mom and baby:

Looking forward to getting back and heading out to Lone Star Park for some good racing!
