911 Operator Asleep Follow UP

Tonight I did a little digging around some of the Memphis area news websites just to check on and see if anything else has been updated. Now I have no way of confirming this but one web site (Los Angeles) did mention that the supervisor and the dispatcher were both fired.

Now 2 other news sites didn’t mention a thing about that and just mentioned that they were still on leave.

I truthfully hope they got fired regardless if he fell asleep and zoned out. He shouldn’t have taken that long to call..

‘Thrill Kill’ Murder

While I was in Seattle a couple days I was watching Court TV or whatever they are calling it now.  There was an interesting case on and I started watching it a bit.  They named it the “Thrill kill” murder.

At the time I was watching it, the defendant was being cross examined and it looked painful.

According to the article at cnn.com/crime the jury deliberated for more than 10 hours and over two days.

Jean Pierre Orlewicz was found guilty of 1st Degree Murder, Felony Murder and Mutilation.

Here are a couple of interesting points:
* Stabbed Daniel Sorensen to Death
* There were 3 crime scenes
* 1st Crime scene (Garage) Stabbing, Decapitation, and the torching of fingerprints.
* 2nd Crime scene (Cul-de-Sac) Where they dumped the body and set fire to it.
* 3rd Crime scene (River) on the outskirts of Detroit where they deposited the head.

I don’t know about you but how could the defense try this with a self defense case after all that?

It’s cold and disgusting if you ask me.  I can’t imagine what the family went through hearing all this in court.  Of course I haven’t listed out all the facts and views from the court, I wasn’t there but just putting my own words together.  Follow the 2 links below to learn more about this case.

Smoking + Oxygen = ???

So I was cracking up this morning as I was laying in bed watching the news avoiding what I really had to do which was to get up and get ready for work.  I like to procrastinate doing that.

So the news popped on and talked about this lady who’s couch caught fire because she was smoking.  Here is a little part of the news article (nbc5i.com):
“The woman tried to extinguish the fire herself before calling 911. Firefighters said they found her overcome from smoke inhalation and administered CPR before taking her to the hospital in critical condition.”

But here is the really interesting part..  She was smoking while on an oxygen tank.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELLO…  I think she is pretty luckly to be alive and not in a ton of pieces in her living room…

And one last thing, she didnt have a smoke alarm installed so the guy that was renting a room had no idea that there was a problem.
