It’s really good but we are just crazy busy at work. We have a quite a few big projects that we or I am planning that will need to take place in May. My boss is in need of a few KVM switches to get all his computers hooked up in his new office. That way he can configure our new load balancer (Fat Pipe) and our new watchguard firewall. He is pretty busy too.
One of my major projects is to re-cable our patch panel and switch. We ordered some custom cables and some new cable management items and they should be in late next week. So 1st or 2nd weekend of May we will take it down and get it all nice and pretty. Then our backup project. WOW this is a killer. We are trying to determine what will be the best for our company. It’s tough and a lot of money so we are not trying to rush into a quick decision.
Next project after that is to buy another new server to test and deploy Exchange 2007. I’m pretty excited about this, however I know it will be a long road. Especially since I have to split my time between all the other daily tasks and emergency’s. (I need my co-worker to step it up)
Oh well at least right now it’s Friday night and will think about all of this later in the weekend.
Often when I need new computer parts I tend to ask others what they think or I tend to check out online stores. Of course there are many of places on the Internet to shop and buy computer parts and systems. One place I like to check out has a pretty cool tag line:
“One can always find a best buy at www.buy.com”
This place has tons of items and accessories and computer stuff and other things. The have tons of sales and weekly specials. I think you should check them out on your next electronic purchase or when you are pricing some items out.
Well the old desktop is getting too old, so I have been thinking about doing an upgrade. I might just make this a gaming computer so I have something powerful to play some games on. Components will make the best investment on this upgrade. I will for sure need some big hardware, like a huge video card, ram, and an awesome motherboard.
I think I could top this off with an really cool case with lights and designs and a 22 inch flat panel.
Yeah I think that would be an awesome set up.
Now if I can just get the money to do it. Maybe I will have to build in pieces.
Sometimes you sit around your office and find new computer/network projects you want to get done, but
can’t seem to find the right hardware?
Well you can buy new hardware but sometimes that gets expensive depending on your project, so why not look at used equipment.
I did some searching to find a server and ran across a really nice site that offers various per-owned equipment. They have Compaq, IBM, HP, used cisco and tons of other equipment for purchase.
Do you have excess equipment? They will buy that too.
