Glad the Weekend is here

Granted there is still 9 hours left in the work day, but hey, it’s Friday right?

I have a semi busy weekend planned out.  Although the rain and storms today and tonight might put some of those off.

If the rain calms down by 5ish we decided to head out to the horse races.  It will be the first live race for us this racing season.  We really enjoy going out there.

Saturday morning we will be having our last spring league soccer game (if the weather holds) and then hopefully that will be followed up by a 2-3 week break.  I think the team is burned out and they do not want to give it there all anymore.  In fact two days ago at practice it was a horrible turnout and most of them (90%) just wanted to be lazy and walk around.  If they were able to drive I would have just canceled practice since they were wasting my time.

Saturday Evening we are going out to dinner some friends from church.  It should be a lot of fun and to hang out with them.

Sunday morning is church and then in the evening community group so that will round out our weekend pretty much.

Any big plans?
What are you going to be doing?

It’s Derby Day

It’s today, it’s actually here already. Time has flown by so quick, I didn’t even realize it till yesterday that is was today. It has felt like yesterday when I was in Seattle watching an Emerald Downs workout 1 week before opening day up there. And I still haven’t made it out to Lone Star Park yet to watch some live racing action.

Maybe we will go tomorrow since my uncle has 2 horses racing at Emerald Downs, and I can watch them from Lone Star Park on the big screens.

I hope today’s race is a really good one and I will be watching it on TV to see who has the stride to try and win the triple crown this year.  I really have no favorites at this time, but at last check Big Brown had the best odds to win.  Good luck Horses.!!!

Emerald Downs – Horse Workout Morning

So this morning I was able to join my family at Emerald Downs Horse Racing Track to watch 3 of his horses workout. It was fun to be back at the track. In Grand Prairie Lone Star Park usually is open from April to July for Thoroughbreds so it’s been awhile since I have been back to the track.

Usually we go every opening night at Lone Star Park, but it was last Thursday which I was in Seattle so I couldn’t go and Emerald Downs hasn’t opened yet.

Here in the yellow cap is one of my uncles horses:
Horse Training

After watching the 3 horses (not the 3 above) we went up to the trainers barn (about 15min away) to see the new Philly. RC Gangster (Uncles Horse) had a baby 6 days ago. She was so soft and fluffy. he he…

Here is a picture of mom and baby:

Looking forward to getting back and heading out to Lone Star Park for some good racing!
