Distraught Man Kills Family over Finances

This is truly sad.  A man from Los Angeles, shot and killed his wife, three sons, mother-in-law and then himself.

Snippet of Article:

It’s “a very tragic scene, total devastation inside this home,” Deputy Chief Michael Moore told reporters at a news conference. “Inside the home, officers discovered six bodies, all belonging to the family that lived at this location.”

It really is sad that he felt this was the way out and all would be better this way.  I’m sure he is not the only one having financial issues with the way the market is crashing and all the other “Bailout” plans and banks falling down, etc. etc.

What can Love do

I think this is crazy.  This teen who is 18 years old, tried to off his mother so he could sell some things and pay for his finance (21) to get breast augmentation.  Seriously?  I’m not really sure what this kid was thinking.  So Nikita Weis offered two men $7,000 to kill his mom. LOL..  He planned on selling his mothers car and to empty all her bank accounts so his 21 year old girl could get some fake boobs.

But the best part, his mom (42) foiled the whole thing when one of the men entered her home and she set off her car’s panic alarm and scared off the intruder.  The son was home at the time and his girlfriend was waiting outside of the house during the break in.  (awesome!!!)  So the teen and his girl were booked on conspiracy to commit murder and they mentioned that there were going to bury the body in New Mexico or Arizona or some remote location. lol

Home sick today

So while I have been home sick, I like to watch court tv or I guess they call it TRU tv now or something like that.  So today they were having live coverage and playing some past clips of this murder trial that has been going on.  I somewhat remember this happening but with so many events that happen in the US Crime world some things just seem to go away.

So the trial was about Entwistle who killed his wife and his 9-year-old daughter and then fled to England.  According to his lawyers, they tried to say the wife did it in a murder suicide crime.  But the jury didn’t buy that one today as he was found guilty of murder.

Other than that, I’ve actually been pretty bored.  I have had to do some remote work cause it just can’t wait till I get back tomorrow.   I have done some plurks, and played some pogo.com and checked my email, and did a bunch of entrecard drops.  So I think now it’s time I take up a movie that we have recorded and needs to be watched.

But overall I am feeling better now that I have had 24 hours of antibiotics in me and I actually got some sleep last night.

Another Round in Chicago

Back on the 20th I wrote about an unrelated shooting spree in Chicago..

Well today they found 3 more dead in a home in a crime plagued neighborhood. On CNN (this article) talks more about it but the police state that these 3 deaths are not connected to other recent shootings, or deaths, or however you want to look at it.

Things seem to be out of control and maybe cause its in the mainstream news now.

Here is a little blurb:
Last week, police found five people found dead in a ransacked home. Those deaths brought the number of people shot to death in Chicago in less than a week to more than a dozen.

The latest deaths come just days after Mayor Richard Daley met with more than two dozen officials from religious groups, police, schools and social service agencies to talk about what’s causing the violence and how to stop it.

Police have stepped up patrols, put SWAT officers and specialized units on the street, and increased their fire power by using combat rifles.

Hopefully they can figure something out cause it’s getting crazy..!!!

Missing McKinney Man Found

I heard this story last night on NBC5i but all last night and today I couldn’t find any relevant story published on any of the local news media. They interviewed his wife last night and she has been praying for him since they have not heard from him since April 13th.

The last contact he told his family he was taking a 400 mile overnight trip (Northbound) to Sacramento to pick up his nursing license.

So what I find pretty strange is why was his body found in Arizona (East) over 500 miles from where he was staying??

I would suspect fowl play now as his car was no where around the body. You just feel bad to read these stories as probably some punk ass kid wanted $5 for some drugs..

Here is a blurb from the story last night:
Edwards said she is clinging to faith that if her husband is injured at the bottom of a ravine, his being a nurse may help him survive long enough to be found alive and returned to his family.

Construction Site Murder *Update* - Seattle

I was trying to do some follow up searching on a post I did earlier when I was in Seattle. I ran across this blog.

Looks like they found a second suspect.

Whats up in Chicago?

According to WLS Chicago, There have been over 31 people shot including 6 who were killed since Friday.

Most of these shootings are not related. So what’s going on this weekend?

News Blurb:
The victims of the weekend’s gun violence range in age from 12 - 65. Police say they include innocents and gang members alike. Of the more than 26 injured since midnight Thursday, six have died, including 34-year-old Marcus Hendricks and 65-year-old Ricardo Sanchez.

I think this is insane. I wonder if it is all the same people or different people.  Gangs or no gangs? Just seems alarming to me.  Fortunately only 6 died and not all 31 people. Hopefully Chicago PD can figure out something and put all this together.

It might just be some bizarre full moon random shooting spree and the numbers are stacking up..

Update to Work Site Homicide - Seattle

I was checking the Seattle Times this morning and they have updated a story that broke last Monday.
Here is the blurb:

Seattle police Thursday night arrested a suspect they believe was responsible for the slaying of a man whose body was found at a downtown Seattle construction site earlier this week.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, was arrested by Seattle police about 7 p.m. in Federal Way. He was questioned by detectives Thursday evening and was expected to be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of murder, police said.

Police had been investigating a possible link between the victim found at the construction site, in the 900 block of 7th Avenue, and a man who died Tuesday in an explosion at an east Pierce County home. Detectives now say they are confident the man involved in the explosion was not connected to the man found at the construction site.

There really isn’t much more I can say about this.  At least they found someone.

‘Thrill Kill’ Murder

While I was in Seattle a couple days I was watching Court TV or whatever they are calling it now.  There was an interesting case on and I started watching it a bit.  They named it the “Thrill kill” murder.

At the time I was watching it, the defendant was being cross examined and it looked painful.

According to the article at cnn.com/crime the jury deliberated for more than 10 hours and over two days.

Jean Pierre Orlewicz was found guilty of 1st Degree Murder, Felony Murder and Mutilation.

Here are a couple of interesting points:
* Stabbed Daniel Sorensen to Death
* There were 3 crime scenes
* 1st Crime scene (Garage) Stabbing, Decapitation, and the torching of fingerprints.
* 2nd Crime scene (Cul-de-Sac) Where they dumped the body and set fire to it.
* 3rd Crime scene (River) on the outskirts of Detroit where they deposited the head.

I don’t know about you but how could the defense try this with a self defense case after all that?

It’s cold and disgusting if you ask me.  I can’t imagine what the family went through hearing all this in court.  Of course I haven’t listed out all the facts and views from the court, I wasn’t there but just putting my own words together.  Follow the 2 links below to learn more about this case.
