So here we are in Abilene, TX for our last tournament of the season. Next season we are moving down to a 96 team instead of a 95 team. We have played up the entire year. So we just finished our first game and wow, the girls we played against were really good. We played OK, but they won. They had 2 girls that were like 5′10″. They must have used their best diet supplements, cause they were in shape.
I lost count but I think the final was 0-8. The other team had about 5 of these players that were on the ODP team. ODP is the Olympic Develoment program. So it was tough. Next game is in a little over 2 hours. I hope we fair better in that one.
Tonight we have another tournament for our soccer team. Chances look pretty decent to hopefully pull out at least 1 win tonight or tomorrow. We have 3 games at a minimum.
The location is about a 50 minute drive so it’s not too far off. However.. Right now the temps are about 48 and by the time the game starts should be colder with some wind. So I hope us coaches and the players have their winter gear. I know I pulled out my gloves and beanie last night to make sure I was prepared for tonight’s game.
I will update later tonight or tomorrow late afternoon on how we did..
The drive down here today was pretty uneventful and really it was rather boring. We stopped along the way as the head coach of the team (I was following them) had a niece playing a college soccer game so we watched the 2nd half about 50 miles from Austin. as
We got here around 5:30pm and did some relaxing. I checked out the TV, then we were off to get the team registered at the host hotel, came back and grabbed 2 more people and we were off to the Outback for some awesome dinner. ** Service was HORRIBLE ** (Outback, Round Rock – Be careful.. lol)
Came back and more team members were here and a few of us sat around the pool chatting for a bit and now its about time for bed.
Will update tomorrow after our 2 games..!!
