Project Update

I thought I should give a project update since I haven’t said much about it.  I think we finally stopped for the weekend about 9:45pm Sunday night.  It was pretty dark out, but it was much cooler than standing in the sun when it’s beating down on you.

So after we placed the border we mixed in some top soil and then some garden soil, and finally put down a weed control barrier over the whole thing.  That where we stopped!  However my wife leaves for Mexico this Saturday so if we don’t get the plants planted and the mulch thrown down, looks like tazdog will have a long weekend finishing up the project by himself :O

It’s been a somewhat fun experience and at least I’m learning some new things.

Backyard needs some help

The other day I was out back working on the yard (cause it really needs some help) and I stopped and stared at the back patio for quite a few minutes. I was looking at the patio furniture and I think it might be time for a change.

When we first moved in we bought some cool stuff that wasn’t very expensive, well it was, but maybe I should say the quality wasn’t as good. Now after two years the top part of the fabric is fading away and if you flip the cushions over it’s like night and day. lol..

I also should do a few more things like cover the grill, add a garden hose holder, and I can’t forget about the weeds. Those need to be killed also. I hate looking at them…

Now I just need to get in to a watering schedule so I can green up the grass and complete the entire backyard look, at least for now.

Day 1 Seattle

So I got lucky today and my flight with American Airlines was NOT canceled.  Thank goodness.

So after arriving I took a little road trip to Bellevue and then back to Renton.  It’s good to be back home and see the old familiar sites and all the new construction going up.  I do NOT miss the traffic, and I thought the traffic was bad in Dallas/Fort Worth, but wow it was already bad when I moved away from Renton but it just sucks now!!!

Here are 2 shots, one of Bellevue from the car and the other from Lake Washington from Renton (via the car)

Tomorrow I hope to get some more pictures and post some to my photo page of the ones I took today.
