Short and Slow, How was Yours?

Wow it’s Sunday night already.  Another weekend down.  This weekend seemed to move really slow.  Wait..  Maybe that’s cause I didn’t do a thing today but just sit here all day long.

OK, so it started off yesterday with some soccer practice.  That was a fun 2 hours in the sun.  Then I helped my wife get her classroom ready for the kiddo’s that start tomorrow.  I finished up the night watching Street Kings, which I have to say was a really good movie.

This morning I played around with mazzie (our dog) and lounging around really.  I did some work around the house but not much really.  Ended up watching Coyote Ugly.  Not too bad of a movie really.  Then we watched this new DVD I got.  David Crowder Band Remedy DVD + CD..  That was simply awesome.  Finished up the night and currently watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

Now don’t get me wrong I like watching the Olympics but sometimes when they show the same sport over and over again (*cough, cough, swimming, gymnastics, diving, volleyball) it gets old quick.

So did you all have a good weekend?

Weekend Greatness

Side Note: I meant to post this on Monday or Tuesday but the work and family schedule has been busy this week so here it is.  [my little disclaimer]

This weekend we decided to do some project work around the house since we actually didn’t have any major plans on Saturday.  Over the course of the last year, storm winds and erosion have pushed our back fence the other way and it had a major lean.  I talked with a good neighbor that we have and we looked at it and figured out we both could just do the work and save tons of money hiring someone to come out and do it.  So we decided that we would tear it down and clean out the post holes and then re-cement the holes and put the fence back up.

Hammer Problems

Hammer Problems

We started about 6:45am when it was getting light out and finished up about 11:30am.  It was so hot out.  Between the 2 of us we took down about 18 bottles of water.  Have to keep hydrated you know!

Saturday afternoon I had a soccer practice to attend to for about 1.5 hours and then after that Lou, our friend in our community group had invited some people over for some dinner feasting and then to finish up the night watching the UFC fights [#87].  That was a lot of fun, hanging out with friends and meeting new ones.  I had never watched an UFC fight before and wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but it was really interesting and fun.  The drawback though I was so tired and exhausted that after the second fight I was starting to fall asleep and we had to call it a night.  Overall it was a nice and exciting party.

Recap of the 3-day

This weekend was a nice 3 day weekend.  Although we were pretty full with our schedule.

So here is the list and how we fared this last weekend:

Weekend Wrap-up - Last one in June

I think I pretty much took care of my to-do list this weekend.  I’m still getting over my strep throat so my energy level just isn’t quite back to normal.  So here is the list:

Updated list:

  • Coach Soccer Practice
  • “The Hulk” Movie
  • Shopping for Anniversary Present for my lovely wife
  • Work on the Mountain Bikes
  • Network Consulting at a local business
  • Wash and Clean Car

As you can see,  nothing really changed after 12 yesterday as I didn’t do another thing on my list.  I was supposed to do the consulting tonight after my normal job but soccer has gotten in the way again, lol.  Well Actually we are having tryouts this week and we have to go watch 3 girls that are on one team and might come over and join ours if we think they will fit in.

So the busy week begins.

Tonight: Soccer Scouting
Tuesday: Soccer tryouts
Wednesday: Soccer tryouts

Well that’s the start at least……..

And for you that don’t know, I do work about 45 hours a week before any of this other stuff..  :)

So glad it’s Friday

Although I didn’t do a whole lot of work this week, it still seemed like a really long week and I’m glad it’s Friday.

So it’s strangely boring here tonight.  Not much going on except the TV.  Wife is in Oklahoma for the weekend and I’m sitting here thinking about the next sentence I’m going to write in this post.  The funny thing is that what you don’t realize is the pause it took between the last sentence and this one.  It was like 10 minutes.  And you can thank plurk and twitter for that, not to mention I’m checking out new plug-ins for the blog, etc.

OK so another 15 just went by, phone calls this time..  Tomorrow I’m going to take my little brother to see “The Hulk.”  (I’m a Big Brother, Big Sisters Volunteer)  He is pretty excited to see it.  This weekend seems jammed packed so hopefully my time management skills will be top notch.

Weekend to do list:

  • Coach Soccer Practice
  • “The Hulk” Movie
  • Shopping for Anniversary Present for my lovely wife
  • Work on the Mountain Bikes
  • Network Consulting at a local business

I think I can pull this list off..  At least I hope so!

Weekend Fun

Looks like this weekend might have some fun around the corner.

Tonight our friends are taking Leslie out to dinner for her birthday.  That is always a good way to start off the weekend.  It sounds like it will be a good place to eat and hopefully they will cater to my special food needs.

Saturday I have soccer in the morning for a few hours and then some much needed work to be done on the cars and the garage.  Oh yeah and I need to clean and lube the mountain bike chains for both of us so we can start riding again.  Saturday night I don’t think we have much going on.

Sunday after church our friends are having us over for some pool action.  It should be hot enough out for a good long afternoon swim or float.  Wait, I hope my swimsuit still fits me.  lol  We will probably stay over there for quite some time and enjoy the water and some good food.

What are your weekend plans?

Weekend WrapUP

I started off the weekend Friday night by going out to dinner at one of our favorite BBQ places.  It was really good and we ate way too much,  I’m getting hungry right now thinking about it. LOL

Saturday morning I was off to soccer practice (like most Saturday mornings).  Today we were having two practice games against 2 teams in our same club.  Our team showed up 45 minutes to 1 hour early to start warming up, and then we started shortly after 10am.  We lost both of our games.  The first one was really bad and the girls acted like they had chains staked into the ground and their ankles were tied to them.  The second game wasn’t as bad, but still bad enough.  After the 2 games, the 4 teams that were there all had a water balloon and soaker fight. (the temps were getting really hot).  So 3 weeks till tryouts, so I hope we get some players showing up at that time to add to our team.  After soccer I ran home and then off to target we go really quick, then off to our friends house in Alvarado for some games and dinner.

Sunday came quick and off to church we go - Servanthood was the theme. (John 13:1-17) was the focus.  After that a quick lunch and I was off to work for 3 hours since we had to upgrade some of our NIC’s in our Exchange, SQL and File servers.  All went great until we realized that DELL screwed up again (this isn’t there first time) and didn’t send us the right card for the Exchange Server.  Oh well I like to work weekends (NOT) and this will just make another weekend visit.  After work it was home to relax the rest of the night!

Heading Out

Heading up to Oklahoma for the rest of the weekend.  I will or should be able to check in later tonight when I get there and have some time.

Everyone have a good weekend and a Happy Mothers Day (to the mothers out there)
