Well after the first week back at soccer practice I have to say I’m pretty disappointed. Last Monday we had to cancel due to freezing rain but had practice as normal on Wednesday night and then we had practice this morning since we missed Monday.
Wednesday night was nice out weather wise, just a little chilly but not bad. We had 2/3rd’s of the team there and didn’t do too shabby. However this morning was a disaster. Now it was pretty cold this morning with the wind chill. Beside the weather they just showed lack enthusiasm, intensity, and showed a willingness of not really wanting to be there or practice for that fact.
I really hate to be mean about it but there are a few players on the team that just don’t do anything. And to top that, a few players didn’t take care of themselves over the 3.5 week break and have hurt knees.
Tonight is a pizza party that they earned. I hope they have fun cause serious soccer will be back starting Monday!
This past weekend Frisco, TX held the ODP Championships for the ‘91 and ‘92 age bracket. North Texas ODP was represented in both age group.
The tournament was supposed to start on Friday but all games were canceled due to snow/weather.
So Saturday ‘92 North Texas played Maryland and won 2:1 and the ‘91 North Texas team won out over Minnesota 7:1 to make the championship game on Sunday.
Sunday’s Championship Pairings:
‘91 Girls – North Texas vs. New Jersey
‘92 Girls – North Texas vs . California South
Here are the results of this weekend:
‘91 girls won 2:1 over New Jersey – ** Congrats North Texas ’91’s **
‘92 girls lost 0:1 to California South
I’m sure these games were exciting to watch and wish I would have had the time to head up to Pizza Hut Park and watch these games…
So tonight we are doing part 1 of 3 of the ‘E’ license for Coaching competitive soccer.
Well they handed some things out tonight and we actually read word for word through the first 25 pages I’m guessing. Come on Seriously?
Yep sure had to, we all took turns like we were back in school. lol
Hopefully tomorrow out in the field will be more fun and exciting.
